Day 28 of 50
No workout today because I didn't have enough time for it because I was meeting my friend at 3pm.
As a consolation (to my body), I walked from my Condo to the Serangoon MRT station, which was a 20 minute uphill-downhill walk, good enough I guess.
I'm planning to workout on Sunday instead.
Here's what I ate:
- 2 pcs of cookie with strawberry jam
- 1 ensure (Vanilla flavor)
- Terriyaki chicken skewers (3 sticks with rice and coleslaw) and German crepe soup from Urban Pantry (A sister company of The Donut Factory)
- 2 small bottles of fruit juice (apple with aloe, blackcurrant with aloe)
- Din Tai Fung at Jurong Point: 5 pcs xiao long bao, 1 medium bowl of hot and sour soup, 1 cup fried rice with pork and egg.
Day 27 of 50
One work week gone and I can finally wake up late the next day.
Since it's a Friday, I'm not able to workout since I had a dinner date with my friend. We ate at Thai Express, food is okay, I guess what you consider comfort food-Thai style.
To sum in up, today I ate:
- 1 mixed rice at Orchard towers - chicken, curry squid and I forgot what the third dish was. But all of them are not fried.
- 1 pack of blue skies crackers
- Thai Express - 1 cup (and a little bit more) of pineapple fried rice, stuffed prawn (or something, and it's also fried), chicken tanghoon ball soup, pina colada ( I took about 5 spoons of vanilla ice cream and some cream soda)

Budget Meal from Kabayan
Day 26 of 50
I actually like Thursday because the next day is Friday!
Tonight, we had a meeting in the office, an hour long which I felt was pretty much a time-waster. When I got back to my desk, it was overflowing with things to do, so I had no choice but to clear it and was only able to leave at 7:30.
I got to my interchange at 8+, and had to stop a while to buy some household necessities, like tissue paper and liquid detergent, plus mixed dried fruits (for my snack).
So when I got home, it was already 9PM. I dilly-dallied a while, and was able to reach the swimming pool at 9:30. I swam and did some water aero for half an hour, and had no choice but to get out of the pool since it closes at 10PM.
Here's what I ate today:
- 1 cup a soup, Campbelle's cream of mushroom pasta
- Kabayan budget meal at Lucky Plaza : 1/4 fried chicken (Leg and thigh, yummy!), munggo and rice
- 2 pcs pineapple tart
- 1 piece cheese boat from Breadtalk
- 1 piece curry naan from Breadtalk
- 1 small cup Alive yogurt - banana and pear (super yummy!)
- Probably a few pieces of the Mixed fruit later
Day 25 of 50
I jogged for about 40 minutes, well, okay I'll be honest, I was gone for 40 minutes, but I only jogged for 20-25 mins and the rest of the time, I was busy catching my breath.
I learned one thing, never eat chilis before jogging. While I was jogging, I was soooo distracted by the heat inside my stomach, and at one point, I felt like running really fast-to get to the toilet!
Anyway, here's what I ate:
- 1 pack dewberry
- 1 six inch parmessan bread with turkey breast and mayo from Subway
- 1 six inch honey oat bread with tukey breast, honey mustard and chili!
Tuesday, February 24, 2009
Day 24 of 50
I don't know why, but suddenly I was a bit afraid of the water. Might be because the water current was strong, yes, water current. Somehow, it felt like it was pushing me to the other direction.
Anyway, I carried on and swam for an hour. By the 65th minute, I really wanted to pee already, so I gave up and went to the toilet to pack up (but pee first).
Here's what I ate today:
- 1 pack rebisco wheat cracker
- 1 pack toasted cashew nuts
- Crystal Jade lunch : Almost a bowl of yang chow fried rice, 3 tablespoons of spicy beef fried rice, 2 pieces of roasted pork, about 3 pcs of duck (with someo of the fat, oh no!), 1 siomai, 1 hakaw, 2 matchbox sizes of carrot cake
- 1 tuna sandwich from subway
- 1 Alive yogurt (Apple and pomelo)
Day 23 of 50
At the start of the day, I could already tell that I would be able to leave at 6PM. Woo-hoo! Swimming! But then, my colleague, whom I haven't talked to lately, asked if we could go out and talk.
Well it was fine with me, I was thinking that if I got home by 9, I would still have an hour left to workout. But then again, we went to Holland Village. A far place known for its unique ambiance (the area is an old town, with I guess as little renovations as possible), and then there are a lot of restaurants that you wouldnt find anywhere else.
I was craving for pasta, risotto, or anything Italian, so we chose this Italian resto called 211 Roof Terrace Cafe. I ate the lobster ravioli in something mousse and something bisque.
The dish was okay lah, but nothing spectacular. The lobster pieces were just inside the ravioli. I mean, the lobster was alone inside, so the flavor was actually incorporated into the sauce. I counted 6 medium sized raviolis, which cost me SGD19.50.
Anyway, I got home around 11PM already, so totally no workout.
Here's what I ate
- 1 Red Ribbon mamon (From my RM who just got back from his business trip)
- 1 piece pineapple tart (the leftover from Chinese new year)
- Thai for lunch: stir-fried chicken with chili (lots of it that I was forced to order a can of coconut juice) and fried egg.
- Lobster Ravioli

Day 22 of 50
I had full intentions of going to the gym for an hour of workout, but lo and behold, it rained! And not just your regular drizzle, but real downpour (in fact, it was so hard that my flatmate's 2-pc sampay got wet, and I didn't tell her. teehee)
Anyway, I didn't want to walk all the way to the gym under an umbrella. So I waited a bit, but the rain didn't show any signs of stopping. So I just took an afternoon nap. A rare occurence, since it's my second time to do so since I came to Singapore 10 months ago.
When I woke up, I got myself ready for dinner with my friends at Marche, Vivo City.
Here's what I ate today:
- 1 tetrapak blackcurrant Ensure
- 1 pack wheat cracker
- 1 pack Dewberry (2pcs)
- 1 large bowl of chicken with fresh vegetables in tomato sauce
- 1 fresh lemonade

I've Lost Weight!
It's not confirmed, since I haven't measured nor weighed myself. I feel that it might be too early. If I do it now, and realise that I haven't actually lost any, having finished 3 weeks, I would feel depressed. So, I think I'll pass first. Rake more compliments before I actually do it.
So far, my friend said that I've already lost weight. Which I also agree.
My lovehandles have shrunk, now there's none of the ugly bulge on top of my undies.
Two of my office pants are comfortable to wear again.
Okay, so only two points for now, but not to worry, I still have about 29 days to go.
Day 21 of 50

Finally, I was able to go back to the gym for almost an hour of workout.
But then, the calories I shed might have been offset by the dinner I had at Crystal Jade.
Here's what I ate:
- 1 'fruits of the forrest' ensure milkshake style drink
- 1 two-piece pack of dewberry
- 1 bowl of Yong tau foo (Broccoli, pechay, fishball, crab claws, fried fishcake with cheese)
- 100 grams of hawthorn sticks
- From Crystal Jade : 1 bowl Yang Chow fried rice, about 5-6 pcs of cuttlefish, 3pcs prawns with soya steamed egg

Day 20 of 50

Well, well, well, I guess I'm left with no choice but to workout tomorrow and Sunday.
What I ate today:
- 1 pack blueskies crackers
- 1 pc 'jolly' cookie
- 1 grilled fish set at Wisma (but fish was actually fried, and when you order it, they grill it again and pour a lot of terriyaki-like sauce). The set also contained some vegetables, thin scrambled egg with curry sauce and rice.
- 1 6-inch turkey breast sandwich with cheese and lettuce, cucumber and tomato. For the sauce, I chose the vinigiarette
- 1 cup Alive banana and pear yogurt (Yum, my favorite brand. It's creamy and delicious)
Thursday, February 19, 2009
Day 19 of 50
Since I enjoyed my steamed rice set the other day, I ordered that one again. Whoa! The spareribs were so tough, my jaws were sore from chomping. Just like that, I'm turned off with their set meal. I shouldn't have eaten in twice in a week.
Okay, so here's what I ate:
- 1 steamed rice set (steamed chicken and mushroom, steamed egg, spareribs with veggies soup)
- 5 pcs chewy junior bread sticks
- 2 pcs pork siomai
- 1 chicken siopao
- 1 pack Dewberry (2 pcs)
- 1 boiled tea egg
No workout because I was sick this morning.
Wednesday, February 18, 2009
Day 18 of 50
Today I had:
- 1 pack blue skies crackers
- 1 cup choco malt Nesvita cereal drink
- 1 mixed rice set at Orchard Towers ( soft tofu, okra with sambal, fried fish)
- 1 popiah without nuts ( It's a Singaporean style fresh lumpia. Except here they add hardboiled egg, shrimp and a chicharon like ingredient)
- 1 small apple juice with aloe bits
- cheese sticks, 5pcs (chewy junior)
- some pili nuts
Again, No Workout because I still have my period. Yipee! But tomorrow, I have to go jogging. That excuse will no longer be acceptable.
Day 17 of 50
- 1 cup nesvita cereal drink
- 1 pack Jacob's 'Cracks' (sour cream flavor)
- 1 steamed rice set at Food Republic in Wisma ( 1 big serving of plain rice with steamed chicken and mushroom, 1 small steamed egg, 1 big bowl of spareribs with vegetable soup)
- Mr. Bean Japanese Cake with cheese (but it's not as good, rephrase, it's so bad compared to the one I ate on Saturday)
- 18 pcs gummi bears
- 1/4 cup Chili lime roasted soya beans
NO Workout because I have my period. Woo-hoo!
Day 16 of 50
Surprisingly though, I was able to leave work at around 8, so I was still able to jog.
Arm weights on both wrists, I jogged the whole stretch until I couldn't jog anymore. I have to say that I'm proud of myself, because now, it's more jogging than walking.
I ate:
- 1 cup sweet corn nesvita
- Chicken Bulgogi with rice (my favorite at Lucky Plaza)
- 3 small traingular packs of wasabi nuts (broad beans and green peas)
- 1 wholemeal pandesal
- 1 big pack of broad beans (which I bought after office because the 3 packs weren't enough)
Sunday, February 15, 2009
Day 15 of 50
Today though, it was a bit different because I was meeting up with my friend to attend a Travel Fair in Suntec.
We decided to meet up before lunch. So, I wasn't able to workout anymore because I woke up around 11AM, just early enough to prepare for our meeting.
What I ate today:
- Black pepper chicken rice with fried egg
- 1 pc hakaw
- 2 tbsp of hor fun with 1 pc fish fillet (tried my friend's order)
- Half of a small piece of chicken siopao
- Yogurt green tea with pearls
- Fish soup with misua

Chocolates for Heart's Day
One thing I like about *toooot* (the company I'm working with), is that monthly, we receive a freebie. Now these are budgetted freebies, because there's thousands of employees, so it's quite reasonable.
And every month, there's a different theme. One time, we received a healthy snack pack with nuts and dried fruits.
One time, we had New Zealand ice cream, to help us cool down. For Christmas, we had a Christmas sock with chocolate kisses inside.
For Valentines, we received a box of chocolates. But, ofcourse! It's the obvious thing to give.
The thing was, there were about 12 boxes with a letter inside. Whoever gets the letter will have a free dinner for 2 at a grand hotel.
Too bad I didn't get the letter, but I enjoyed the Belgium chocolates. So much that I exceeded the quota of 2 pieces per day.

Day 9 of 50

I think I may have ruined my diet (a bit).
In fairness to me, I have been pretty disciplined for the past few days. I just feel like my monthly period is coming up, so I can't resist eating, and I can't stop myself from craving sweet and salty stuff.
Darn, to think I rushed home to swim for 45 mins, just to offset what I ate.
Okay, so here's what I ate:
- 1 pack Blueskies crackers
- 1 Glass of milk
- 1 Fish soup with rice
- 2 very small packs of growers garlic peanuts (47 calories each pack)
- 4 pcs nougat (2 crispy and 2 soft)

Family International Buffet

Day 5 and 6 of 50
On Day 5, I ate:
- 1 pack frooties shortcake biscuit
- 1 glass milk
- Chinese Mixed Rice for lunch (Like our turo-turo, you just have to point what dish you like. I chose 3 - Steamed fish, greens and okra. SGD4)
- 3 slices wholemeal bread with pork floss
- 1 small cup peach yogurt (after workout)
- 1 slice wholemeal bread
- 1 small pack preserved mangoes (the pickled type)
I half jogged and half ran the stretch from Chiltern Park (my condo), to like, a cross away from Aljunied, an entirely different community. Then I bought some products for household use (toilet duck, anti-bacterial liquid, etc). I walked all the way back to the condo, lugging around the heavy grocery items.
Day 6.
I ate:
-1 pack Blue Skies plain crackers
-Yong tou fu and rice. I chose mostly vegetables for my soup.
- 20 pieces of honey roasted Growers peanuts
- Buffet at ' Family International Buffet', in Ngee Ann City. (My colleague treated me, so how could I resist) .
-From the buffet dishes, I chose mostly seafood, and non-fried items. Well, except for the fried crab and chicken nuggets. Then, for drinks, I drank tea instead of cool and sweet drinks. To top it all off, I did not eat ice cream nor their tiny cakes. Instead, I feasted on Guava with plum powder. (Yum, I never appreciated Guava this much, and I'm not being fake here. Guava will taste so much better with plum powder).
I got home past 11pm already, so it was too late to do any workout. So, I decided to do a crazy thing. I went out of the condo vicinity and walked. Nobody was in sight, it was quite scary because, as the Singapore Government warns: 'Low crime does not mean no crime '.
I was turning around once in a while to check if anyone was following me.
Wednesday, February 4, 2009
Day 4 of 50
So, I was able to leave the office early. By 630PM, I was already out and on my way to the MRT.
_
I got home around 730PM, ironed a few pieces of pants and changed for my workout today - swimming!
So, I stayed about an hour in the pool. This time, I didn't just float around, I really swam. Swam so hard until my arms couldn't paddle anymore.
Today, I ate:
4 pcs of wholemeal bread with potted meat (1 for breakfast and 3 for dinner at 6PM)
1 glass of milk
1 fish soup
1 order of rice (slightly bigger than the normal serving)
3 gummi bears
1 pc of wholemeal with pork floss (after swimming)
1 ponkan
This is getting more interesting, I just hope I can keep it up.
Tuesday, February 3, 2009
Day 3 of 50

Day 3.
I had Yong Tou Fu for lunch. It's not a brand, but more of a stall name which describes what they are selling. Almost all food hall or hawker centres would have them.
Basically, you get to choose 7 items (from an array of ingredients that are mostly vegetables and does not contain pork or lard). The price would likely be 4-4.30, regardless of what you choose. Then, you have to decide whether you want it in soup, with noodles ( sgd 0.50), with rice (same) or with noodles but with gravy (their sauce) instead.
I chose mostly vegetables and some fish balls to taste. All in all, it was a delightful and refreshing meal. But a couples hours after, I was already famished. Sigh.
These are what I are today:
1 pack of Blue Skies crackers for breakfast
1 glass of Nesvita milk
1 bowl of yong tou fu with rice
1 pc shrimp dumpling
2 slices of wholemeal bread with potted meat
1- 500 ml diet lassi ( it claims to have 30kcal only)
1 ponkan
1 slice of bread with pork floss (not yet eaten, but I will, after I post this)

Day 1 of 50 (Part 2)

Day 1 of 50

I ate 2 packs of Rebisco Whole Wheat Crackers for breakfast. While waiting for those to be digested, I lazed around and read a book I bought yesterday from the Carre Four book sale at Suntec City.
Why and How
While I was on leave from work, I let myself go and ate all the things that I liked. I knew that I was going to do this diet thing. So, in a way, I ate and ate to gain weight. I wanted to know if I could lose it all within a time period, just like what celebrities do. Well, minus the big bucks, south beach diet, personal chef and personal trainers, that is.
How:
1. I'm going to cut down on a lot of stuff. From now on, NO more (or super minimal):
1.1. Junk food (chips and sweets like chocolates, cakes, milkshakes)
1.2. 'Fastfood' food. Goodbye to McDonalds, Mos Burger, KFC, Burger King and Carl's Jr.
1.3. Fried food.
1.4. Carbonated drinks, even those Isotonic blah blahs.
2. I'm going to lessen intake of rice and carbs (white bread and pasta).
3. I'm going to drink lots of green tea (which is free in the office pantry, woo-hoo!) because it supposedly helps with the matabolism.
4. I'm going to the gym twice a week, go jogging twice a week, and do daily small exercises like squats, push-ups, tricep dips and crunches. And probably some aerobic moves too, to help loosen up the muscles.
